3 Thorns, 2 Tires, 1 Heck of a rough ride!

3 Thorns! Imagine me amazement when my front tire goes flat 7 miles into what was turning out to be one of my strongest training rides yet. I turned out of the wind and was gearing up to pickup speed. I ride into the wind outbound and enjoy a nice tail wind on the way back. I was riding at about 17mph and started cranking up for about a 23mph pace then Pfffffffffffff. I had noticed a white dot on my tire about a quarter mile before but it wasn’t until I came to a stop that I realized it was a thorn. Once I had the tire off I realized it wasn't one thorn but two! So there I sit on the side of a busy 4 lane road changing the tire. No one slows down, no one stops to lend help, even two Police cars went by without even slowing. So, now I have the tire repaired and I go to replace it and that’s when I heard Pfffffffffffff. Now the back tire was flat. Luckily I had one last spare.

Now $100 later I have brand new tires, trued wheels, and some piece of mind that I won’t have those thorn punctured tires to worry about in FIVE Weeks. Whoa, only FIVE more weeks till the MS 150! Where has this season gone? My ticket’s booked. I’ve decided how to ship my bike. Made car reservations. I even bought new riding shorts. So, we are well on the way.

THANK YOU to everyone who has donated so far! I’ve collected $1,135 so far. I can’t thank you enough for helping out. For those of you who have not yet donated, please consider helping out. You can in a number of ways. A donation of any size is appreciated and can be made on line by clicking any of the links on this page. I still have plenty of photo’s for $100 donations. See the images below. I’ve added one more for Fresno.

Another way you can help out is to forward this message on to as many people you believe will help support the effort. As I have said, just 500 people with $10 donations will get us to the goal. Let them know that my efforts are only a small part of the solution to finding a cure for MS. Their help fuels the research, care and support that Heather, Karlen, and Tara need to live fulfilling lives as they wait for the solution to the disease that makes each day a new challenge. Do it for them and all of the others who suffer and long for normality to return to their lives.

So, in the spirit of being here in Fresno, I am offering up my closest Ansal Adams attempt at Yosemite. You now have four photo options for your 8 X 10.

Follow the link to http://ms150.org/b2b/donate/donate.cfm?id=170999 to make a donation.
It only takes a minute and will make you feel good about what you have done. Only $3, 865 to go! With your help we can make a difference, together.

Thank You!
